Solar Rebates
The South Australian State Government
The South Australian Government's Solar Hot Water Rebate Scheme will now target low income households to help them comply with new water heater standards effective from 1 July 2008.
The new standards aim to increase the uptake of high-efficiency gas, heat pump and solar hot water heaters.
South Australian residents who purchase a new solar hot water system for domestic purposes and install it at their principal place of residence are eligible for a rebate if their system fits into any of the following categories:

Replacing an electric water heater with an electric boosted one panel solar hot water system that achieves at least 18 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) |

Eligible applicants are home owners who:
Install a complying water heater, as outlined above, to serve their principal place of residence; and at the time of installation, hold at least one of the following Australian Government concession cards:
* Centrelink Health Care Card
* Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card
* DVA Gold Card - Totally and Permanently Incapacitated
* DVA Gold Card - War Widow
* DVA - Extreme Disablement Adjustment
